About ABA

Behavior analysis is the science of behavior based upon principles of learning studied extensively  by B.F. Skinner.

Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) is the application of the “principles of behavior”  (e.g., reinforcement, prompting, modeling, shaping,  generalization, etc.) to issues that are socially important to produce practical change (Baer, Wolf, & Risley, 1968 / 1987).

We teach each child the skills that he or she needs using a combination of two teaching techniques – Discrete Trial Training (DTT) and Natural Environment Training (NET)

Through the use of ABA it is our goal to increase behaviors such as language, socialization, play, fine and gross motor skills, activities of daily living, as well as perspective taking, problem solving, and academic skills while reducing maladaptive behaviors such as tantrums, non-compliance, aggression, self-injurious, and sterotype behaviors.
