Susie Jordan founded Carolina Family Frontiers after relocating from Southern California where she spent over 12 years working with children diagnosed with autism and other pervasive developmental disorders. Since relocating to North Carolina in 2006, Susie realized there was a great need for services for children and their families. Her experiences in the field of autism and behavior analysis led her to pursue the opening of Carolina Family Frontiers. What she loves most is working in the field with clients, designing and implementing programs, and supporting parents and families through the daily challenges they encounter.
Susie received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from George Mason University, where she first started working as an independent therapist with a 4 year old boy diagnosed with Autism. He is quickly approaching his 17th birthday and preparing for college. Susie went on to receive her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology, with an emphasis on Marriage and Family Therapy from National Univeristy, San Diego, California. She is actively fulfilling requirements to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
Upon graduation from George Mason University, Susie relocated to San Diego, California, and began working with one of the leading organizations treating children with Autism. Susie started her career with the Center for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD) as a Jr. Therapist where she quickly was promoted to Sr. Therapist, Clinical Supervisor and Workshop Consultant. In 1999, Susie’s interest in providing behavioral treatment for children with autism took her to Abu Dhabi, located in the United Arab Emirates, where she provided treatment and consultation to a child and family while under direct supervision of Clinical Director of CARD, Dr. Doreen Granpeesheh. Upon her return to the United States, Susie continued designing individualized ABA based programs for young children while at the same time traveling throughout the U.S. and Canada training parents and other professionals.
Susie has worked with children of varying needs and is known to create individualized programs. She believes it is essential to develop a program based on the child's learning style and will incorporate various strategies to increase the child's success. While serving all children on the Autism Spectrum, Susie has also developed many programs for Asperger's and PDD clients.
Family Frontiers hopes to provide families in the Carolinas and surrounding areas with the most appropriate services possible. It is our mission to provide highly individualized treatment to children diagnosed with Autism and other Pervasive Developmental Disorders while supporting parents and families through the challenges that these diagnoses present.
